Chemical dryer for the treatment of wet cakes

A chemical dryer is a plant used in chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries that allows to dry wet powders and dense cakes coming from filtration and centrifuge processes.

For this purpose a chemical dryer is always coupled with a vacuum pump that permits to intake and extract solvents vapours and water present in products under treatment.

There are different types of chemical dryer.

Italvacuum, a private limited company founded in 1939, besides industrial vacuum pumps, designs and manufactures chemical static dryers with cabinet shape and inner shelfs and chemical rotary dryers. These last can be both biconical and cylindrical.

The chemical dryer with double cone shape represents the bottonhole flower of Italvacuum drying technology. Equipped with lumpbreakers in order to obtain fine powders, this type of chemical dryer, named CRIOX System, has gained an international success during the years: there are in fact more than 400 units manufactured from its introduction up to date.

The chemical dryer with cylindrical shape, in Italvacuum named TUMBLE Dryer, is chiefly used for drying, mixing and condensing granulated plastics.

The approach to innovation that has always characterized Italvacuum drying technology has recentrly brought to the launch of a new chemical dryer: the Planex System, patented horizontal paddle dryer. Thanks to the adopted technical solutions, among as the eccentric agitator with indipendent movements for a combined double totation, Planex System represents the chemical dryer with higher technological content today present on the market, being particularly suitable for the production of fine chemicals and APIs.
